the ICE database is definitely not on the P2P web or anything. and it's especially not at an address that looks anything like dat://386ef60e56eb9edb878738ee35ee6e95c8552902985e725a5901ae6851e25d00/
and it would be a real shame
if anyone were to look at that url or pass it around or anything

@er1n how likely is it that you can get your IP logged for downloading / sharing this over dat?
pol, ice, db :)))
@k i am not sure. you'd have to ask someone who actually knows about dat; i'm not hosting this, i was just tipped off as to its existance

@er1n Okay, so this is not the first time I've seen a "dat:" url, but ddg won't stop correcting it to 'data:', making it hard to research. Is this just to do with the Beaker browser or (as I would suspect) is there a wider network? Is there anywhere I can read up on this?

@weird_hell 1) beaker hooks up to dat; 2) https://datproject.org/

@er1n ah, so many distributed solutions

@er1n is there a tool available for windows to get this? looks like the dat project desktop client is linux/OS X only
pol, ice, db :)))
@nventous there's Beaker - https://beakerbrowser.com/install/

for what it's worth, i didn't put this up, and i don't _use_ dat; i was just tipped off as to its existence and wanted to signal-boost
